Building Moisture Inspection

What Is BMI?

The Building Moisture Inspection (BMI) class is an IICRC-approved course.  The BMI certification is designed to provide knowledge in performing the inspection of the environment inside and outside of a building while taking into consideration the location, design, use, occupancy, history, and the building materials the building is made with. 

 

A Building Moisture Inspection is a critical process that can help identify the cause and origin of the moisture problem, allowing the customer to maintain the building for the health and safety of the occupants. The inspection process includes a scientific method approach of gathering information, inspection safety, walk-through, hypothesis development, testing, and reporting and documentation.

Who Should Take BMI?

This course is advantageous to a broad group of professionals who work with, in, or around buildings.  This BMI class can be helpful to anyone who inspects a building related to moisture.  This class will expand the professional knowledge, judgement, and experience.

John Stowe, a Triple Master Restorer with 20+ years of cleaning, restoration, and inspection experience, started Covenant Restorations. John provides expert witnessing and is a subject mater expert that specializes in water damage, fire restoration, and microbial remediation. As a consultant and instructor, he bridges gaps between cleaning, restoration, inspection and insurance with an emphasis on ethical standards and precision in work.
