Building Moisture Inspection, LLC. (BMI) Course Terms & Conditions Agreement
By enrolling in, accessing, or participating in the Building Moisture Inspection (BMI) course offered by Building Moisture Inspection, LLC, you acknowledge, understand, and agree to the following Terms and Conditions:
1. Educational Purpose and Limitations
The information provided in the BMI course, including the course manual, instructional materials, demonstrations, presentations, videos, diagrams, and discussions, is intended solely for educational and informational purposes.
Any reliance on the information provided in this course or manual is strictly at the student’s own risk.
2. Professional Judgment and Liability Limitation
The BMI course materials are not a substitute for qualified experts. Students are responsible for applying appropriate professional judgment before using any information presented.
No author, instructor, sponsor, school, or affiliated party shall be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages resulting from the use or misuse of course content.
3. Code and Standard Variability
Building codes, industry standards, and regulations—including IICRC, ASTM, ASHRAE, and local building codes—vary by jurisdiction and may change over time. Students must verify:

Students acknowledge that materials may become outdated as standards evolve.
4. Indemnification
By participating in the BMI course or using its materials, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless:

Instructors

Sponsors
-
The hosting school
-
All affiliated parties
from any claims or liabilities arising from your use of course content.
5. Copyright, Licensing, and Intellectual Property
All course materials are the exclusive property of Building Moisture Inspection, LLC and protected under U.S. and international copyright law.
A revocable, non-transferable, single-user license is granted for personal educational use only. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or use is prohibited.
5.1 Prohibited Actions
Students may not:

Copy, scan, or duplicate materials

Reproduce or distribute any content
-
Upload or share any portion online
-
Record or photograph any course components and content
-
Create derivative works
-
Alter or remove copyright marks
-
Operate a motorized vehicle during training
Any violation of these requirements may result in removal from the course, loss of eligibility for certification, and potential legal action.
6. Recording, Copying, and Reproduction Prohibition
Absolutely no audio, video, or screen recording of any kind is permitted.
This includes photography, screenshots, scanning, duplication, or capturing of any course material and content.
This restriction applies to:

Live instruction

Classroom discussions
-
Demonstrations
-
Slides, diagrams, visual aids
-
Printed or digital manuals
-
Any proprietary content
Any violation of these requirements may result in removal from the course, loss of eligibility for certification, and potential legal action.
7. Student Conduct and Professionalism Requirements
To maintain a productive and respectful learning environment, all students must adhere to the following conduct standards.
7.1 Professionalism
Students are expected to:

Show professionalism at all times

Conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on the BMI program and the industry

Communicate respectfully with instructors, fellow students, sponsors, and staff

Allow others equal opportunity to participate and learn

Use appropriate language and behavior in all course settings
7.2 Respect for Learning Environment
Follow instructions given by the instructor or course administrators

Respect the classroom space, equipment, and property

Engage in the course with integrity and academic honesty
7.3 Zero Tolerance Behavior
The following are strictly prohibited:

Harassment, bullying, intimidation, or disrespect of any individual

Aggressive, threatening, or inappropriate conduct
-
Disruptions that interfere with learning
-
Violation of safety rules or site-specific requirements
Failure to comply with expected conduct may result in:

Verbal warnings
-
Written warning
-
Dismissal from the course
No refunds will be provided for removals due to zero tolerance behavior.
8. IICRC Notice & Disclaimer
The IICRC reviews course manuals only to verify that each manual covers all of the test questions on the respective course exam, and that the course manual otherwise meets the criteria in the IICRC Policy and Procedures Manual. The IICRC does not otherwise review or approve course manuals for content or technical accuracy. The schools are independent of the IICRC and the responsibility for course manual content and technical accuracy, except as to exam question coverage, remains the responsibility of the respective schools and not the IICRC.
9. Acknowledgment & Agreement
By enrolling in or attending the BMI course, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to abide by this Terms and Conditions Agreement, including all policies.
